Application Operation - Python, PostgreSQL, and Shell Scripting

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer/Lead to provide operational and technical support for business-critical applications. The role involves troubleshooting, resolving incidents, and ensuring smooth functioning of applications. Strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, and Shell Scripting is essential for automation, data handling, and application support.

Key Responsibilities
? Provide L2/L3 support for applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
? Analyse and resolve application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
? Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, and operational tasks.
? Write and optimise PostgreSQL queries for reporting and data management.
? Create and maintain Shell scripts for system tasks and application support activities.
? Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments.
? Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
? Document troubleshooting steps, SOPs, and maintain a knowledge base for recurring issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
? 4+ years of experience in application support or production support within enterprise environments.
? Strong proficiency in Python (automation, scripting, API integration).
? Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (queries, performance tuning, database management).
? Good understanding of Unix/Linux environments and Shell scripting.
? Good knowledge of ITIL processes like incident, problem, and change management.
? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong communication abilities.
